SMYRNA - Gregory Alan McDaniels Jr., of Smyrna, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, in his home. He was 26. Gregory was born Aug. 25, 1982, in Wilmington, the son of Gregory Alan McDaniels of Smyrna and Theresa K. Phillips McDaniels of Wilmington. He worked as an operator for JJID, Inc. Gregory will be remembered for kindness and for his love of life. He will be missed. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tom Phillips. In addition to his birth parents, he is survived by his step-mother, Donna M. McDaniels of Smyrna; two sisters, Tanya E. and Alicia M. McDaniels, both of Smyrna; two step-sisters, Teresa and Angela Croce, both of Wilmington; his paternal grandfather, Glen R. Daniels of Smyrna; his paternal grandmother, Patricia E. McDaniels of Newark; his maternal grandmother, Bessie Phillips of Wilmington; and several cousins. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna. Condolence may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., Smyrna.
