REHOBOTH BEACH - Grace G. Slaughter of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Dover and Hancock, N.H., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at her home.
Mrs. Slaughter was born in Oyster Bay, Long Island, N.Y., daughter of the late Augustus and Lillian (Porter) Green.
She worked as a supervisor for Diamond State Telephone Co., which is now Verizon, for 35 years before retirement.
Mrs. Slaughter attended schools in Harrington and Pennsylvania.
She was a member of the Hancock Historical Society, the Boston Art League, the Art Auction Committee for Beebe Hospital, Lewes, and the Bell Telephone Pioneers of America.
Mrs. Slaughter was also a sponsor of the International Women"s Day at Delaware Technical & Community College, Georgetown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward B. Slaughter; and two brothers, Frank Green and Augustus Green.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Dr. Patricia Susan Slaughter of Boston, Mass. and Rehoboth Beach; and three sisters, Marguerite G. Salmons of Harrington, Emma Sibitzky of Clayton, and Gloria Brittingham of Smyrna.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Beebe Medical Foundation, Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
