MILLINGTON, Md. - George S. Hollett, 89, of Millington, passed away March 8, 2012, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. Mr. Hollett was born on Jan. 6, 1923, son of the late John W. and Lillian Wallace Hollett. He was born and raised on a farm in Chesterville, where at an early age began farming. In 1966, he and his family moved to Millington. For 33 years he worked as a bridge carpenter to James Julian, Inc., retiring in the late 1980's. Mr. Hollett was a charter member of the Millington Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. Hollett was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Evelyn 'Essie' Kendall Hollett in 1972; two brothers, William and Herbert Hollett; and a sister, Madeline Hollett. He is survived by his children, G. Mark Hollett and his wife Becky of Marydel, Md., and Tina Lusby and her husband Mark of Millington; a sister, Lillian Rowan of Lewes, Del.; a grandson, Lyle Pinder; three step-grandchildren, Lindsay Lusby, Brett Lusby and Bryan Clarke; and two step-great-grandchildren, Trey and Brett Clarke. Friends may call on Monday, March 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, at 11 a.m. Burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Millington Vol. Fire Co., P.O.
