George M. Holmberg

MAGNOLIA - George M. Holmberg passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at Kent General hospital. Mr. Holmberg was born May 1, 1947 in Wilmington, Del. to the late David A. Holmberg and Dorothy Carman Holmberg. He served 3 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Holmberg was a Lab Tech for 30 years, retiring in 1995 for DuPont Experimental Station. He enjoyed wild game hunting especially deer hunting, he also enjoyed salt water fishing. Mr. Holmberg was an avid reader and loved military history. He was a member of the American Legion, Walter L. fox, Post #2. Mr. Holmberg is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharyn Press Holmberg of Magnolia; sons, Brian K. Holmberg and his wife Donna of Middletown and David E. Holmberg and his wife Tiffany of Newark; grandchildren, Randy, Amanda, Jaida and Ava. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Del. 19701. In lieu of flower's the family suggests contributions be made to the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2, 835 Bay Road, Dover, Del. 19901. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
