George L. Pruitt Sr.

SEAFORD - George L. Pruitt Sr., also known as "Bubbles," 68, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at the Milford Hospice Center. Born in Bridgeville, he was the son of the late Leon Cannon, Sr. and Roxie Pruitt Allen. His wife, Christabell Pruitt, has also preceded him in death. He was a member of Macedonia A.M.E. Church and the Morning Star Lodge #10 F. & A.M. He was also a charter member of the Kamau Motorcycle Club and associated with the Zulu Motorcycle Club of Ohio. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a truck driver for Perdue Farms, Inc. George is survived by: three sons, Richard L. (Gennie) Pruitt, Dallas, Texas, Brandon Baynard, Milford, and Antonio (Tanya) Waters, Salisbury; four daughters, Cynthia Pruitt, Seaford, Vietta (Jimmy) Wade, Arlington, Texas, Wynetta Y. Waters, Baltimore, and Peggy Pruitt, Salisbury; one brother, Leon T. (Wanda) Cannon, Jr., Ellendale; eight sisters, Peggy Robinson, Linda Cannon, and Betty Cannon, all of Ellendale, Shirley Johnson, Georgetown, Ella (Lonnie) Badger, Milford, Barbara (Randolph) Fidderman, Lincoln, Pastor Joyce (John) Mizzelle and Leretta Pettyjohn, both of Greenwood; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four aunts; four uncles; a special friend, Theresa Cook, Seaford; a special cousin, Daniel Cannon, Pittsville, N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends. He has also been preceded in death by two sons, Anthony Oney and George L. Pruitt, Jr. He will lie in repose on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the United Deliverance Bible Center, 532 W. 7th Street, Laurel. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Elder Wilford Yelverton will be the officiant, and Bishop Ralph Harmon will be the eulogist. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Preston.
