DOVER - G. Wayne Mills Sr., "Big Daddy" died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018. Born Nov. 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Jerry Mills and Nettie Ware Mills Cloulette.
Wayne served in the United States Navy. Wayne was a commercial waterman most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as, hunting, fishing and crabbing. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing poker and gambling. Wayne's family and friends would describe him as spirited and "One of a kind."
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Mills; a son, G. Wayne Mills Jr. (Herb); his brother, Roger S. Mills; and sister, Kitty Mills Rucker.
Wayne is survived by his step-mother, Sigrid Mills of Dover; his sister, Marjorie Hastings and Paul of Delmar; daughters, Kimberly Mills-Dill, and Haley Morris and husband, Charles (Chuck) of Dover; grandchildren, Taylor Dill, Josh Morris and Makayla Morris all of Dover; daughter in law, Beth Mills of Dover. Many nieces and nephews including two, close to his heart, Rick Bush of West Virginia, and Jeffrey Talley of Wilmington.
A celebration of Life will be Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Traders Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests, contributions to: Little Creek Fire Company, P.O. Box 327, Little Creek, Delaware 19961.
