FELTON - Frances Mae Postles Johnson of Felton departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 56.
Born April 1, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Arvil and Lucy (Carter) Postles.
She attended Booker T. Washington Elementary School, William Henry High School and graduated from Felton High School.
She was united in holy matrimony to Ronald Johnson Sr., Aug. 9, 1973. To this union, two sons were born. They shared 35 years of marriage.
She was a member of St. James Union African Methodist Episcopal Church.
She began her work years at Swift and Co. until the company was destroyed by fire. She then began to work at Perdue, later named ConAgra, until her health began to fail her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Donald Carter; two sisters, Catherine Postles and Irene Pernsley; and one grandson, Ronald Johnson III.
She is survived by a loving husband, Ronald Johnson Sr. of Felton; two sons, Duane Postles and Ronald Johnson Jr., both of Felton; two granddaughters, Brieanna Meyer and Ronee Johnson, both of Felton; one sister, Clara Pittman of Frederica; one brother, Arvil Postles Jr. of Salisbury, Md.; seven sisters-in-law, Delema Carter of Felton, Mary B. Watson of Wyoming, Stella Watson and her husband Melvin of Felton, Sarah Johnson of Dover, Sylvia Fuller of Frederica and Francine Johnson of Wilmington; one aunt, Sadie Green of Felton; one uncle, Milford Carter of Frederica; one brother-in-law, Robert Johnson Sr. and his wife Shirley of Wilmington; one godmother, Frances Mosley of Felton; one goddaughter, Jocelynn Stewart of Elkton; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
Viewing will be today from 5-7 p.m. in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Bibleway Temple COGIC, 56 S. Kirkwood St., Dover.
Interment will be in Delaware Veteran"s Cemetery, Bear.
