Frances 'Fran' M. Spencer, 64

DOVER - Frances "Fran" M. Spencer of Dover, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington. She was 64. Fran was born May 29, 1944, in Dover, the daughter of the late Leonard Caldwell and Margaret Bell Russum Caldwell. She was a homemaker who enjoyed watching and feeding birds, growing plants, playing video games, and gardening. In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Spencer; a sister, Dale Walls; and a brother, Leonard Caldwell Jr. Fran is survived by three daughters, Tammy Spencer, Darlene Kuhn and her husband Bill, Maggie Sinclair and her husband Chuck, and Nora Spencer, all of Dover; a brother, Roy Caldwell and his wife Shirley of Smyrna; a sister, Gladys Hurtt of Smyrna; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main St. Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 South Main St. Smyrna. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
