Frances M. 'Aunt Te' Harris, 98

MIDDLETOWN - Frances M. "Aunt Te" Harris of Middletown went to be with her Lord Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, in Broadmeadow Health Care, Middletown. She was 98.

Ms. Harris was born Oct. 13, 1908, in Middletown, daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Mayhew) Harris.

She lived in the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend area her entire life. She worked in the Middletown area as a school teacher from 1945-1948. In 1948, she went to work for the Delaware Trust Bank, Middletown, where she retired in 1973 as head teller after 25 years of service.

Born and raised on a farm, she loved vegetable and flower gardening and spent many hours outdoors. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Many of her bus trips were taken with MOT Senior Center. These "hobbies" kept her young at heart both physically and mentally.

Ms. Harris was a lifetime member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Harris, Louise Pennewill and Rosalie Keithley; and a brother, Russell Harris.

She is survived by her immediate family including a nephew, Douglas A. and his wife Evelyn Harris of Townsend; two nieces, June Pennewill of Dover and Virginia Austin of Smyrna; and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, Md.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to MOT Senior Center, 300 S. Scott St., Middletown, DE 19709.
