Frances A. Steele

CLAYTON - Frances A. Steele died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Milford Center, Milford. She is the daughter of the late William G. and Melissa Coverdale Stokes.She was born and raised in Milford and retired in Clayton. Mrs. Steele worked for Acme Meat Market in the Meat Packaging Department in New Castle- Wilmington area for 30 years before retirement. She attended Smyrna Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her husband Rufus F. Steele and her brothers Leonard and Albert Stokes preceded her in death. She is survived by two children Rufus A. Steele and wife Sandra, and Terry Steele and Wife Bonnie and one sister Elsie Jenkins. Also, six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00AM at Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, Delaware where friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Friday evening. Interment will be Milford Community Cemetery. Milford, DE. In lieu of flowers the family request donation to Smyrna Church of Christ 1630 Joe Goldsborough Rd., Smyrna, DE 19977.
