Florence M. McClain, 77

WORTON, Md. - Florence M. McClain, of Worton, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in Chester River Manor, Chestertown. She was 77.

Mrs. McClain was born on July 30, 1930, daughter of the late Frank and Cora Mae Teat Reed.

She was born and raised in Crumpton and after her marriage in 1946 she moved to Chestertown.

For the past 19 years she has lived in Worton.

Mrs. McClain was a member of the Crumpton United Methodist Church and was a life member of Veterans of the Foreign Wars Post 652 Ladies Auxiliary in Millington.

She enjoyed crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, R. Henry McClain in 1989; two brothers, Wilmer "Buddy" Reed and Harry Mason Reed; and three sisters, Frances Peterson, Mabel Freeman and Elsie Kinsley.

Mrs. McClain is survived by six children, Ray H. McClain Jr. and his wife Cindy of Millington, Linda M. Walls and her husband Wayne of Chestertown, Mary Anne Bramble and her husband Gary of Easton, Frances Hollen of Ephrata, Pa., Dudley McClain and his wife Shawn of Chestertown, and Wilmer R. McClain of Crumpton; one brother, Bussy Reed of Henderson; two sisters, Mary Kitterman of Virginia, and Edna Bacon of Crumpton; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday.

Burial in Crumpton Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Kent County Relay for Life, P.O. Box 1001, Chestertown, MD 21620.
