Evelyn Geneva Clarkson, 93
MILFORD - Evelyn Geneva Clarkson of Milford, formerly of Greenwood, died of natural causes Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 93.
Mrs. Clarkson was born May 25, 1913, in Greenwood, daughter of the late Alfred and Maggie (Swiggett) Passwaters.
She was a seamstress for many years, working at the Greenwood and Milton Shirt factories.
She loved making quilts and sewing; she especially enjoyed making clothes for her family. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Mrs. Clarkson was a member of the Christian Tabernacle in Lincoln since 1969. She was involved with the church choir and teaching Sunday school, and enjoyed being in the quilting club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1991; three sisters; and five brothers.
She is survived by two sons, Gordon Clarkson and Ernest L. Clarkson, both of Greenwood; two daughters, Joyce Willey of Harrington and Joan Edwards of Greenwood; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Leta Collins of Milford; and a sister-in-law, Marion Callaway of Georgia.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood, where friends may call one hour earlier.
