Eugene W. Slaughter

CECILTON, Md. - Eugene W. Slaughter, died on Saturday, Mar. 18, 2017, in the Christiana Medical Center, Newark.
Mr. Slaughter was born in Houston, the son of the late Frank and Margaret Armour Slaughter.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Slaughter enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Security Police Division as a Supervisor and retired after 20 years of service. He was also assigned to Hubert Humphrey's security staff when traveling in government aircraft. Mr. Slaughter served in Korea and Vietnam. After his Air Force career, Mr. Slaughter worked for David A. Bramble in Chestertown, Md., and the Ames Department store in Chestertown, Md., until going to work for Kent County and worked as the attendant at the Galena Transfer site until he retired again.
Mr. Slaughter enjoyed movies, pets and airplane models and, of course, anything Air Force, as well as loving to fish.
He was a member of the Wards Hill Baptist church, Cecilton, Md.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Slaughter was predeceased by two sisters, Louise Perry and Margaret Yost; and one brother, Lofland Slaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Anna G. Slaughter; daughters, Dawn Skinner, of Port Republic, Md.,Terri Lee Ford, of Charlotte, N.C., and Marlina Collins, of Dora, Mo., and Diana Bringman, of Millington, Md.; one son, Mitch McDaniel, of Chestertown, Md.; and one sister, Sandra Cole, of Townsend; and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held with Military Honors in the Chapel of the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701, at 2 p.m., in the afternoon, on Wednesday Mar. 29, 2017. Interment will be private at the cemetery.
