Eugene Packard 'Red' Werner, 87

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Eugene Packard "Red" Werner of St. Augustine died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, in Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. He was 87.

Mr. Werner was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Kenilworth, N.J., son of the late Eugene Packard Sr. and Sadie (Conlin) Werner.

He graduated from Rahway High School in New Jersey and attended Rutgers University. He graduated from Drexel University.

Mr. Werner served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was employed with the International Playtex Corp. in Dover, Del., retiring after 27 years of service as vice president of distribution.

Mr. Werner and his wife moved to St. Augustine in 1985.

He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna (Taylor) Werner; a daughter, Carol Weidman of West Chester, Pa.; a son, Douglas Werner of Chula Vista, Calif.; a sister, Ruth D. Scarbrough of San Diego, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Joy Werner.

Services will be at a later date in Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 N.W. Ninth Ave./Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
