DOVER - Ethel Collins passed away Aug. 26, 2011, at Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 81. Ethel was born on Oct. 17, 1929, in Willow Grove, daughter of the late Christopher and Irene (Holloway) Ford. She had worked as a lineworker for Playtex for 36 years. Ethel is preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Collins; and her companion, Donald White. She is survived by a daughter, Ethel Slagles and her husband Charles of Mifflintown, Pa.; two sisters, Betty Frazier of Holiday, Fla., and Doris Looney and her husband Burley of Dover; three brothers, Christopher Ford and his wife Doretta of Wyoming, Jon Ford and his wife Ruth of Florida, and James Voshell and his wife Sheila of Anderson, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jay DeGood, Angel Slagles, Alesha Slagles and Michael DeGood; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Edgehill Community Church of God, 702 Maple Parkway, Dover, DE 19901.
