DOVER - Estella M. Tribbett, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Cadia Rehabilitation/Capitol. She was 91. Estella Mae Tribbett was born to the late Emma and Garrett Stevenson on December 16, 1920. Estella was employed at Libby's in Houston, Swift Poultry Plant in Felton, and Quality Inn in Dover. She was also employed by the Caesar Rodney and Capital School Districts as a foster grandparent. Estella attended Hubert AME Church, Frederica under the leadership of Rev. Robert Watson. Upon her move to Cheswold, she attended First Baptist Church, Cheswold, under the leadership of Rev. Willie Savage. Upon moving to Dover, she attended Mt. Zion AME Church Dover. Estella was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Tribbett, Sr.; daughter, Mabel Cherry; granddaughter, Lydia Jewell; three sisters, Gertrude Brown, Eliza Woodlin and Minne Wiltbanks; and a brother, Garrett Stevenson. Estella leaves to cherish her memories her nine children, Aubrey Stevenson of Dover, Emma Scott, Bronx, N.Y, William (Ann) Tribbett, Jr. or Dublin, Ga, Martha (Melvin) Hitchens, Magnolia, Patricia (Khalil) Tribbett, Felton, Rev. Charlotte Brooks, Dover, Earl (Mae) Tribbett, Dublin, Ga, Cornell Tribbett of Dover, and Vanessa Covington, Cheswold; three sons-in-law, Rev. John Brooks, Sr., Dover, Temus Covington, Md, and Larry Brown, Smyrna; one daughter-in-law, Angelia Ford, Magnolia; one brother Samuel (Elizabeth) Stevenson of Willow Grove; a sister-in-law, Naomi Stevenson of Magnolia; 36 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, January 7, 2012, at First Pilgrim Baptist Church, Camden, DE., with viewing one hour prior to the service and viewing Friday, January 6, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division Street, Dover, DE. Interment will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Gardens, Dover, DE. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com.
