MILFORD - Ensley Freemont Milton passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Ensley was born in Enfield, Maine, the son of the late Lawrence and Harriet (Doane) Milton.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and served our country proudly all over the world for 30 years before retiring from Dover Air Force Base, DE as a Master Sergeant in 1983. Following his retirement, Ensley began his civil service career working for 17 more years before retiring in 1999 from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH and then moving back home to Milford, DE to enjoy retirement. He was a member of the Milford Elks Lodge. Most important to Ensley was his family, for he loved spending time with them every chance that he got, especially doting on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Milton, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Florence; two daughters, Cynthia K. Cruthirds (Kendall) and Dorothy J. Collier (James); three sons, Lawrence B. Milton (Joanne), Ensley P. Milton, and Christopher A. Milton (Lori); 11 grandchildren Kellie Zhe, Michael Zhe, Donald Coffer, Adam Milton, Leah Milton, James Collier, Jr., Jonathan Collier, Abigail Collier, Matthew Collier, Ensley E. Milton and Emilee Milton; five great grandchildren Aria Zhe, Levan Zhe, Kaylee Milton, Aubrey Milton, and Emma Collier; four sisters, Gloria, Valerie, Sharon and Brenda; a brother, Dalton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Committal services with Air Force Honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
