DOVER - Elva M. Blendt of Dover, formerly of Woodland Beach, died of respiratory failure on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Mrs. Blendt was born June 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Lillian Connors Johnson and the late Raymond Reed.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching NASCAR and the Phillies and most of all adored her grandchildren and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Blendt, Jr.; two sisters, Barbara Lowman and Lillian Marie Condron.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce A. Talley, and Linda York and her husband Kim of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, Harry W. Blendt III and his wife, Linda of Smyrna; two brothers, Leo Johnson, Jr. of Middletown and Raymond Reed of Zephyrhills, Fla.; six grandchildren, Brian Talley and his wife, Christine of Dover, Dawn Watts and her husband, Matt of California, Crystal Hartz and her husband, Danen of Wilmington, Jennifer Truesdale and her husband, Shelby of Camden, Nicole Carter and her husband, Joseph of South Carolina and Harry W. Blendt, IV and his wife, Anna of Maryland. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Chase and Bree Talley of Dover, Jacob and Lila Watts of California, Sienna and Caden Hartz of Wilmington, Collin and Alex Truesdale of Camden, Joseph and Adam Carter of South Carolina, and Madison Blendt of Maryland; two great-great-grandchildren, Leila and Layne of South Carolina; and a special niece, Brenda Hershberger and her husband, Melvin and her daughter, Megan of Dover.
Services will be Friday, June 22, 2018, 12 p.m. at the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one-half hour prior to services.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
