Elsie L. Teat, 93

DOVER - Elsie L. Teat, of Dover, departed this life Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in Capital Nursing and Rehabilitation Home, Dover, where she resided for the past four years. She was 93.

Mrs. Teat was born March 18, 1914, in Ingleside, Md.

She worked and retired from Conagra Foods, Felton.

Mrs. Teat loved to cook and bake. She cooked for the Felton Fire Co. for many years until her illness.

Mrs. Teat joined the Mt. Plymouth Church in the 1950s and served on the stewardess, steward and trustee boards. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Auxiliary and chairperson of the Presiding Elder Committee until her health began to fail. She was faithful and very devoted.

Mrs. Teat was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Teat; her son, Alvin Bordley; nine sisters; one brother; and a very special friend and sister-in-law, Madeline Tatman.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary E. Teat of Wilmington, Jacqueline B. Hines of Camden and Frances D. Bordley of Felton; six sons and their wives, Ralph and Maureen of Wilmington, Norman and Sarah of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Martin and Janet Bordley and Randolph and Jessie Teat, all of Felton, James Teat and his wife of Oklahoma, Charles and his wife Rosa Bordley of Felton; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; and her family at Capital Nursing Home.

Services will be noon Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church, Queen and Fulton streets, Dover, where friends may view one hour prior.

Burial will be at Gibbs Memorial Cemetery, Woodside.

Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Milford.
