Ellen "Sis" Bolin, 78

MILTON - Ellen "Sis" Bolin of Milton passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007, in her home. She was 78.

Mrs. Bolin was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Stubbs.

During the late 1970s through 1989, she was the owner and operator of the Heartbreak Hotel of Bowers Beach. After selling the business, she worked in food service for Delaware Technical & Community College, Georgetown.

She loved to be around people, and was an avid Elvis fan.

Mrs. Bolin was a member of the AARP and Shuffleboard Club. In years past, she was into home interior decorating.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers; three sisters; her husband, William R. Bolin; and a special companion, Earl Cheek.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, William R. and Betty Bolin of Phoenixville, Pa., John P. and Cindy Bolin of Houston, Del.; a special friend who was like a son, Robert Cheek; two grandchildren, Dennis Edge and Eric Edge; five great-grandchildren; and her loving dog, Babette.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
