Elizabeth Marie Johnson

Elizabeth Marie Johnson, 82

MILFORD - Elizabeth Marie Johnson of Milford died Wednesday, May 16, in Milford Center. She was 82.

She was born in Denton, Md., June 10, 1924, the daughter of Herman D. and Mary R. Jenkins Smith.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and delivered News Journal newspapers for 32 years.

She was a member of Aldersgate Wesleyan Church in Milford.

Mrs. Johnson loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Johnson.

She is survived by two sons, James C. Johnson and his wife, Margaret of Millsboro and Steven Johnson of Milford; three grandchildren, Mathew Johnson, Andrew Johnson and Pamula Conaway; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and their spouses, Leon and Louise Smith of Houston, Del. and Herman Jr. and Ethel Smith of Lincoln; six sisters and their spouses, Pearl and Earle DeFord of Greenwood, Dorothy and John T. Harris, Hannah and Harlan Cohee, Frances and Roger Carmean, and Joyce Trader, all of Milford, and Alverta Roberts of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Fleischauer Funeral Home, West Market Street, Greenwood. Viewing will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood.
