Elizabeth B. "Dusty" (Starr) Thomas, 79
CAMDEN - Elizabeth B. "Dusty" (Starr) Thomas passed away on October 7, 2022. Born in Washington, D.C., she was raised by the late Elizabeth Branion, along with Frederick Russell Starr and Frances W. Starr.
Mrs. Thomas attended Hollins College in Roanoke, VA. She was a social worker in New York City and surrounding counties for most of her career. Most recently, she was an integral part of developing Community Housing Innovations, Inc. in NY, which served to assist homeless and unwed mothers. She retired at the age of 70 after over 45 years of social work service. Mrs. Thomas was a lover of animals, be it birds, cats, dogs or horses.
In addition to her parents; Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson B. Thomas, Sr. She is survived by four sisters: Sharon Starr Turner and her husband Donald of Alpharetta, GA, Cynthia Starr Bertram and her husband Peter of Duluth, GA, Linda Louise Starr of Horsham, PA and Debra Starr Barker and her husband Wayne of Mystic, CT; two step children, Nelson Bernard Thomas, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Park Ridge, NJ and Kaye Marie Montgomery and her husband Brad of Pipersville, PA; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cat Tales, Inc., P.O. Box 165, Warminster, PA 18974 www.cattalesinc.org.
