Eleanor Young, 60

FELTON - Eleanor Young, of Felton, departed this life on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 60. She was born March 2, 1949, and was the daughter of the late John Warren and Martha Ann Hicks. She attended Lake Forest School District and William Henry Middle School, Dover. She was employed by Crescent Farms that became Capitol Health Care Nursing Home in Dover as head cook/dietitian. She was employed through 1983-2008. She enjoyed in her spare time playing bingo, slots and horse racing, going shopping and vacationing in Hawaii, Florida and cruising the islands of Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Virgin Islands. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving devoted husband of 40 years, Carl Young of Felton; two sons, Carl Young Jr., and Charles Young, both of Felton; one daughter, Dana Young of Dover; five sisters,Norma Jean Hicks of Florida, Leora Kennedy of Maryland, Mary Ellen Pough of Florida, Patricia Chisum of Harrington, and Maxine Hicks of Frederica; three brothers, John Hicks of Dover, Leroy Hicks of Frederica, and Keith Hicks of Dover; seven brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, 17 grandchildren, one special niece, Shenelle Hicks-Lovett, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday Oct. 8, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may view two hours prior. Burial will be in Gibbs Memorial Cemetery, Woodside. Condolences may be sent to benniesmithfuneralhome.com.
