Eleanor L. Jarrell

DOVER - Eleanor L. Jarrell, 95, of Dover, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Westminister Nursing Center Dover. She was born on March 7, 1916, in Harrington to the late Leroy and Mattie Mullikin Fleming. She was a member of Magnolia Methodist Church. She graduated from Harrington High School and then attended Goldie College. Mrs. Jarrell was homemaker and was happiest when surrounded by her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, ballroom dancing and her gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lawrence M. Jarrell in 1999; a brother, Leroy Fleming and his wife Jane of Ridgeley, W.Va.; and a sister, Mary Ann and her husband Frank of Baltimore, Md. She is survived by her six children, Phyllis Counterman and her husband John of Magnolia, Ronald Jarrell and his wife Elaine of Smyrna,Alice Murray and her husband Michael of Magnolia, Eleanor Marine and her husband Floyd of Sun City, Ariz., Raymond Jarrell and his wife Linda of Magnolia, Larry Jarrell and his wife April of Camden; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Remembrance Services will be noon, Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in the Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation to the Magnolia Methodist Church or the Magnolia Fire Company. Letters of condolences may be sent to www.delmarvaobits.com or traderfh@aol.com.
