Eleanor Elizabeth O"Day, 87

GEORGETOWN - Eleanor Elizabeth O"Day, formerly of Seaford, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in the Harrison House of Georgetown. She was 87.

She was born in Reliance, the daughter of the late Bessie Tull and Raymond J. O"Day.

Ms. O"Day worked in the safety office at the Dupont Co. in Seaford, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Reliance, and Sussex Chapter 7, Order of the Eastern Star.

Ms. O"Day graduated from Goldy Beacom College, Wilmington.

She is survived by two sisters, Carrie O. Cannon of Earlville Md., and Willie O. Hearn of Seaford; three nieces, Barbara A. Hearn of Selbyville, Nancy E. Massey of Laurel, and Patricia E. Charles of Elkton, Md.; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; four great-great-nieces; and one great-great nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin J. O"Day; and two sisters, Anna O. Moore and Edna M. Short.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King streets, where friends may call two hours prior.

Burial will be private.
