DOVER - Edward A. Riemer, formerly of Dover, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. He was 87. Born in Baltimore City, Maryland, on May 28, 1927, Ed was third child of six, son of John Phillip and Anna Riemer. He met Bernita June Layman at a barn dance and married her on September 23, 1950. They were married for sixty-four years. He was baptized in August 1956 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and served as a ministerial servant for many years. Preceded in death by brother John and sister Anna. Survived by his wife Bernita of Laurel, his son Edward H. Riemer of Dover, daughters Kathy Gard of Laurel and Yvonne Herschberger of Seaford, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, brothers Charles of Titusville, Florida, Harry of Baltimore, Maryland and sister Mary of Baltimore, Maryland. From 1965 to 1991, he owned and operated Del-Mar-Va Heating & A/C of Dover, loved nature, liked owls, bluegrass and country music and could fix just about anything. He looks forward to a new life on earth. (Luke 23:43) A memorial service will be 12 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 450 Upper King Rd, Felton, Delaware.
