MILLINGTON, Md. - Edner Rosiella Earle Burke, the daughter of the late Calvin Cornelius Earle and Mary Virginia Kilson Quailes was born in Burrisville, Md., was given to us Sept. 4, 1922, and returned home Feb. 5, 2009. She was educated in the Queen Anne's County School system. Her major occupation was raising her children. She did factory work, was a domestic engineer and retired from Kent and Queen Anne's hospital as a nurse's assistant. Her joy was cosmotology. On Dec. 22, 1938, she married John Henry Burke Sr. and from that union 11 children were born; Rosiella Courchesne (Paul, deceased), John, Jr. (deceased), Joan Lewis (Rendal); Ray (Joyce), Raymond, Calvin (Elke), Sterlind, Sr. (Linda), Mary, Sandra Brooks (Darrell), Wendell (Irene), and Arnola Dixon (Harold). She leaves to cherish her memory all of her children with the exception of John, Jr.; her brothers and sisters, Ellen Lewis, Pernell Earle, Sterling Davis, Marie Hunter, and Hattie Burch; 32 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Roger and Doris Burke, Roy Burke, Robert and Evalena Burke, Louis and Dorothy Burke, Raymond and Florence Burke, Toussaint Harrison, Charlotte Davis; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, Graves Chapel, Millington, where friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m. to time of service. Burial will be in Graves Chapel, Millington.
