Edith Sarah Sheppard, 84

DOVER - Edith Sarah Sheppard, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, in Kent General Hospital. She was 84. Mrs. Sheppard was born Aug. 26, 1924 in Marydel, Md., to the late Howard Bickling and Bertha Alexander Bickling. She was a homemaker and was very meticulous in her housekeeping. She was a loving mother and wife. In her younger years she and her husband were in a country band called the "Blue Hen Ramblers". She had attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel. Mrs. Sheppard enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Barney Sheppard 4/2/06, and her brother Joseph Bickling. She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Littlefield and her husband Jon of Wyoming; sister, Mary Leslie of Dover; sisters-in-law, Aliticia Bickling of Dover, Mary Walls of Barkley, Md., Marie Walls of Dover, and Mabel Reed of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be at Templeville Cemetery, Templeville, Md.
