Earl J. Bennett Jr., 81

MILFORD - Earl J. Bennett Jr. of Milford died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Milford Center. He was 81.

Mr. Bennett was born in Milford, son of the late Earl J. Sr. and Lottie Mae (Hudson) Bennett.

He was a machinist for Steiner Woolmill in Milford for 25 years. He also was a custodian at Avenue U.M. Church for 10 years.

Mr. Bennett enjoyed fishing, loved watching wrestling on TV and rode his bike all over town picking up tin cans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle (Passwaters) Bennett, in 2003; two sisters, Emma Bennett and Sarah Bennet; and a brother, James Bennett.

He is survived by a sister and a brother-in-law, Alice M. (Bennett) and Willis Wood of Milford; and a nephew, Ronald Bennett of Milford.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
