Earl B. Steele Sr.

CLAYTON - Earl B. Steele Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Jul. 31, 2017.
Mr. Steele was born on May 30, 1934, in New Castle, the son of the late William and Anna May Steele.
Earl was an over-the-road truck driver for over 60 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and traveling all through the North American Continent. Earl prided himself in taking care of his family; he was a devoted family man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice; his son, Robert Cole; three grandchildren, Billy Jean, Victoria Lynn and Kevin Michael Steele; four brothers, William, Jacob, John and Vernon Sr., all Steele; and his sister, Shirley Kovac.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Karen; two daughters, Alice Manz and her husband Edward Sr. of Trenton, Fla. and Kimberly Ryan and her husband Steven Sr. of Smyrna; two sons, Ricki Fretz of Newark, and Earl Steele Jr. of Hartly; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Faries Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
