LINCOLN - Dorothy E. "Dot" Melvin, of Lincoln went home to be with her Lord, at the Milford Hospice Center on Saturday, May 16, 2015 . Dorothy was born Jan. 18, 1946 in Milford to the late Henry and Dorothy Donovan Silbereisen. She was a life member of the Ellendale VFD Aux. and a member of Lincoln UMC for many years. Dot drove a bus for KSI from 1998 to 2012 where she found many friends. She loved to collect antiques, and went to many auctions and estate sales to find her treasures. She also enjoyed food, whether it was going to beef/dumpling dinners at the fire hall, going to a restaurant, or traveling down to the Sharptown Carnival. Most of all she loved her family, especially the grandchildren who were her pride and joy and she would go to all of their sporting events. She will be sorely missed. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; and two brothers, Albert and Robert. She is survived by three children, Michele Coverdale and her husband Paul of Milford, Darlene Johnson of Lincoln, and Michael Melvin, Sr. of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kim, Brian, Michael, Jr., and Robert; a brother, Garry Silbereisen; and a host of nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lincoln UMC. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 and Lincoln UMC, 8641 2nd Street, Lincoln, DE 19960. The family would like thank all of Dot's friends, family and Delaware Hospice for their compassion during this time. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
