GEORGETOWN - Dorothy A. Baker, of Georgetown, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. She just turned 84 years old on Monday. Dorothy was born on July 11, 1927, to the late Cornelius and Pearl Halistein Smack. She was 1 of 15 children. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward J. Baker in 1995; and a son, James F. Baker "Bake" in 2006; and several brothers and sisters. She worked as an assembly line worker making lights at Arrow Safety Device in Georgetown, the Powellville Shirt Company and also as a poultry grower. Everyone called her "Mom Mom". She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to keep busy. She was well known for her chocolate peanut butter fudge. She is survived by two children, Helen Bailey Smith and her husband Wayne of Georgetown, and Marion Willman and her husband Walter of Georgetown; sisters, Barbara Tyndall and Betty Jo Littleton, both of Pittsville, Md.; six grandchildren, Jeff Bailey, Kevin Bailey, Kimberly Bennett, Trina Stephens, James A. Chandler Jr. "Jay" and Sherman E. Baker "BJ"; and five great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Pastor David Souder will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro.
