Doris H. Staiger

Doris was born in West Grove, Pa., the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Mimm) Heibeck. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the piano and bingo. She was a member of the Milford Elks #2401. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Hipkins; her second husband, Thomas Staiger; a brother, Robert Heibeck; and sister, Barbara Ewing. She is survived by two children, Elizabeth Wisseman, of Lincoln and Leon W. Hipkins and wife Jeannette, of Millsboro; two step-children, Robert Staiger, also of Lincoln and Jean Birdsong and husband Charles, of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, DE with visitation after 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
