Doris Ann Sparks, 80
Doris Ann Sparks of Ridgely died Monday, May 14, 2007, in her home. She was 80.
Mrs. Sparks was born Nov. 8, 1926m in St. Michaels, daughter of the late Herman E. and Margaret Hoffman Nixdorf
She was a lifetime member of the area, and a 1943 graduate of St. Micheal's High School.
She was a nurse at Memorial Hospital at Easton and a teaching assistant for the Caroline County Board of Education.
Mrs. Sparks was a member of the Ridgely United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for the Ridgely Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle M. Sparks, Oct. 16, 1991.
She is survived by three sons, Earle M. Sparks Jr. and Robert E. Sparks, both of Ridgely, William E. Sparks of Payson, Utah; three daughters, Bonnie A. Blunt of Ridgely, Patricia L. Sparks of Tucson, Ariz., Barbara Finnegan of Groveland, Ill.; a brother, Richard Nixdorf of Mooresville, N.C.; a sister, Herma Benjamin of Temple, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., Greensboro.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Burial will be private in Ridgely Cemetery.
