Doris Ann Hicks, 70
Doris Ann Hicks of Wilmington, Delaware formerly of Dover passed away Monday, December 26, 2022.
She was born October 12, 1952, in Harrington, Delaware, to the late Willard Hicks, Sr. and Elsie Mae Hicks.
Ms. Hicks worked 42 years as an Administrative Purchasing Specialist. She enjoyed reading her bible and listening to Pastor Price and was a previous member of Love Temple Church of God In Christ in Dover, DE. She loved spending time giving to charities and walking in the community.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by, her brother, William Hicks, Jr.; her sister, Delores Mae Preston; and her niece, Lasheka Hicks.
Ms. Hicks is survived by her son, Maurice-El Mahiir Tarik-Bey of Clayton, DE; three brothers, Willard Hicks, Davis Hicks, and Raymond Hicks; three sisters, Norma Alexander, Hazel Butcher, and Dorothy Pierce; five grandchildren, Kwanza Calile Cartwright, Maniyah Imani Cartwright, and Mecca Hassan Cartwright, Yianna Gilmer, and Marquel Nakai Bryant.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Delaware State University, Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Building, Dover, Del.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray funeral expenses.
