CHURCH HILL, Md. - Dora Benney Webb, of Church Hill, died of pulmonary fibrosis on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, in Chester River Hospital Center. She was 91

She was born on July 28, 1916, on a farm near Hope, and was the only child of Elizabeth Carter and Claude Leonard Benney.

She attended school at Starkey's Corner and Church Hill High School, graduating from Church Hill High School in 1933.

She graduated from Beacom College in Wilmington, Del., in 1935.

Mrs. Webb then went on to work as a bookkeeper for Albert Hayman Plumbing Supply Co. in Wilmington.

In 1943 she married Amos E. Webb Sr. of Wilmington. He predeceased her in 1972.

Since 1950 she has lived in Church Hill, where she worked as a bookkeeper for Church Hill Motor Co. and Corsica Veterinary Hospital.

Mrs. Webb enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, and Orioles baseball.

She was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, A. Edward Webb Jr. of Church Hill.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Chestertown, where friends and family may call one hour prior.

Interment will be at Church Hill Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to Chester River Hospital Center, 100 Brown St., Chestertown, MD 21620.
