MILLSBORO - Donald Michael Gant died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. He leaves behind his beloved son, Dain; his parents, Dorothy and Howard Gant of Millsboro; his fiancée, Catherine Beers of Salisbury Md.; his grandmothers, Hilda Scott and Gladys Gant; and brothers, Howard L (Mary)Gant and Dale (Denna) Gant. Don was nephew to Richard Scott and Debbie (Bob) Renauro and an uncle to Kayla, Abigayle, Wesley and Corey (Lisa) Gant. Born in Nov. 23, 1965, in Salem, N.J. He was proceeded in death by John L. Scott (Poppie) and Halford Gant and (Whiskey). Don's life can be summed up as follows: He spent his life devoted to his son Dain, his family and God. Don spent his life also serving the community. He was a volunteer fireman at Indian River Volunteer Fire Co. in Millsboro, and the Deepwater Fire Company in Pennsville, N.J.; he trained eye seeing dogs and enjoyed many years coaching little league baseball and wrestling. Don was always quick to lend a hand to friends and family. Sports were his hobbies. The Red Sox, Cowboys, Denny Hamlin, fishing and his dogs. He was employed at Christina Care Center in Newark in the Criticawww.melsonfuneralservices.com.
