Donald J. Lawrence, 68 DOVER - In loving memory of Donald J. Lawrence, who went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday March 3, 2010 surrounded by his loving daughters and wife. He was 68. He retired from Kraft Foods with 36 years of service. He worked in the chocolate department and his daughters loved him coming home with the smell of chocolate on him. At the time of his retirement, he worked in the Kook-Aid department. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, his church, dining at the Smyrna Diner, and eating breakfast at Boscov's. He also enjoyed fishing and boating with friend Billy Smith, and son-in-laws Bill Stanley and John Smith. He was loved dearly by many, especially by his Aunt Helen Cahall and her late husband Ralf Cahall. Special thanks to his wonderful caregivers Linda and Robert, and a very special thanks to Delaware Hospice. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald J. Lawrence, Jr.; great granddaughters Brooklyn Wilson and Leena; and a son-in-law, William Stanley, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Emma M. Lawrence; four children, Annette Stanley of Magnolia, Deborah Bowers and her husband Phil of Seaford, Lisa Lawrence of Smyrna, and Laura Smith and her husband John of Felton; grandchildren, Michael, Brandi, Justus, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Alanna, Logan, Angela, Dillon, Nathan, Justus, Jr., Jeremy, Jonathan, Nela, Zalaysia, Zachary, Kianna, Bianca, Glory, and Anastasia; brothers, Ernest Webbert and William Morris; and a sister, Barbara Burris. Services will be noon, Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the Smyrna Wesleyan Church 433 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park Dover. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
