Deborah (Debbie) A. Aziz (nee Carter) was born on June 23, 1940, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, the daughter of Edward B. and Margaret F. Carter.
Debbie graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1959. Debbie was married to Edward R. Aziz, Jr. in 1964 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church of Ridgewood, New Jersey. After living briefly in Ohio and Woodbury Heights, Debbie and Rich settled in South Harrison Township, where she devoted her time to raising her two daughters Elizabeth Ann (O'Keefe) of Benton, Pennsylvania and Deborah Anne Aziz (Debbie Anne) formerly of East Point, Georgia. Debbie served her community by teaching swimming lessons, volunteering at the YMCA, as well as serving on the Kingsway Regional High School Board of Education for 11 years. In 1991 Debbie started LEMCO Inc., a maritime business that sold storage containers all over the world. One of LEMCO's biggest customers was the United States Armed Forces, and LEMCO's containers were instrumental in both Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. After a battle with breast cancer Debbie devoted her time to various breast cancer support groups. She helped start a support group at Jefferson Hospital called The Buddy Program. Moving to Delaware in 2005, she became active with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Edward B. Carter; her sister, Carroll Carter Adickes; and her daughter, Debbie Anne.
