DOVER - David Lee Wilkerson of Dover died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 56.
Mr. Wilkerson had been a resident at Capitol Health Care Center for several years.
He was born Aug. 20, 1950, in Pocomoke, Md., son of the late Arnold Lee and Edna (Yates) Wilkerson.
He worked at Spence"s Bazaar.
Mr. Wilkerson was a Philadelphia Phillies fan and had a passion for music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Ely) Wilkerson.
He is survived by a son, David Lee Wilkerson Jr. of Delaware; a daughter, Debra Lynn Wilkerson of Washington; two brothers, Norman F. Wilkerson of Dover and Douglas A. Wilkerson of Onancock, Va.; two sisters, Edna Mae Staats and Joyce Spence, both of Dover; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
