MILFORD - David Lee Hinte Sr. of Milford died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, in his home. He was 66.

Mr. Hinte was born April 28, 1940, in West Virginia, son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Wolfe) Hinte.

He served his country in the 101st Army Airborne, then began working for Chrysler Corp. where he retired after 30 years of dedicated service in 1996.

Mr. Hinte enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He was a wonderful husband, father and brother.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorrayne Crothers and Thelma Griffith; and a brother, Charles Hinte Jr.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Anna Hinte; a son, David Lee Hinte II of Beckley, W.Va.; a daughter, Rhonda Hinte of Newark; three stepdaughters, Rhonda Gail Cagle of Hartly, Lori Ann Barnett and her husband, Perry of Seaford and Angela Faith Savko of Bear; a brother, Forrest Hinte Sr. of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Shawna Hinte of Middletown and A.J. Hinte, Carrie Hinte and Marcie Hinte, all of Newark; nine step-grandchildren, Lonnie Dillion and Jack Dillion, both of Seaford, Dale Gilseth II and Shane Gilseth, both of Hartly, Andrew Savko IV, Brandon Savko and Matthew Savko, all of Bear, Jennifer Boyd and her husband, Russell of New Castle and Jeffrey Barnett Jr. of Seaford; and two step-great-grandchildren, Joslynn Boyd and Russell Boyd Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous friends and relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, in Gracelawn Chapel, New Castle, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial with military honors will be in Gracelawn Cemetery.

Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
