CLAYTON, Del. - David E. Luettke Sr. (Lucky) passed away on January 18, 2021 at York Hospital, York, Pa.
He was born in Ottawa Lake, Whiteford Township, Monroe County, Mich. on January 15, 1940 to the late Raymond Luettke and Dorothy Sloan.
He was a high school graduate and Vietnam War veteran serving a 20-year career in the US Air Force. He also was employed as a Charles Chips home delivery driver and worked at Lowe's. He lived in various places throughout his life including: Michigan, Dover, Del., McGuire AFB N.J., Yakota AFB Japan, Keesler AFB Mississippi, Kincheloe AFB Mich., and Clayton, Del.
He enjoyed crafts, woodworking, and watching old westerns on TV. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Smyrna. His favorite quotation was "We got this!"
He is survived two children, David E. Luettke Jr., and Rebecca C. (Jeremy G.) Deaver; and grandchildren, Caitlin, Paul, Lauren, Mark and Kirsten.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret P. Luettke; and sister, Joan Pointinger.
Services will be held 12 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at Matthews Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, Del., where friends may call at 11 a.m. (Public health guidance for face-coverings and social distancing must be followed.) Pastor John Cereghin will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna.
