David B. Betts Sr.

ELKTON - David B. Betts, Sr., 54, of Elkton, went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2010.  He was the husband of Beverly "BeaJay" Badur-Betts with whom he shared 16 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, he was the son of, William W. Betts, Sr. and the late Irene Betts. He attended Middletown High School and was the co-owner of Betts Garage, B&G Glass Inc and B&G Auto Body. He enjoyed working and building the family business since 1970 where he made many great friends and fond memories. He was an avid sprint car fan and enjoyed fishing, boating, horseback riding and camping with his wife and grandchildren. He was a member of Blackbird Micro Midget Racing Club and United Racing Co. In addition to his wife and father, David is survived by his son, David B., Jr. and wife Toni; daughter. Kelly R.; step-son, Bill Jipson, Jr.; grandchildren, Troy and Bailey Betts and Madison Jipson; siblings, Helen Jarrett, Lynn Mobley, and William Betts, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 3 p.m. on Sunday August 22, 2010, at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy Newark where the family will receive guests starting at 1 p.m. Interment will be at St. George's Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to: The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at John Hopkins University Hospital; One Charles Center, 100 North Charles Street, Suite 234, Baltimore, MD 21201.
