CLAYTON - D. Wayne Case passed away surrounded by family and friends on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Seasons Hospice Wing at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del., after battling a long illness. Mr. Case was born Feb. 5, 1962 in Dover, Del., the son of Donald G. Case of Dover, Del. and the late Alice M. Case. He worked for 26 years as a Foreman for Chesapeake Utilities in Dover before he became ill. Wayne enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, and drinking and partying with his buddies. He enjoyed being home with friends, laughing, joking, and having a good time. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Case Hayes; and his father-in-law, Paul Sharpley. Wayne leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years, Kim; his father, Donald Case and wife, Betty; his mother-in-law, Pat Sharpley of Clayton, Del.; his two nieces, Amanda Hayes Chadwick of Alabama and Katelyn Hayes of Hartly, Del.; a sister-in-law, Karen Divel and husband Glen and his nephews, Paul and Chris all of Houston, Del.; and other extended family members; his "Little Buddy" JJ Anglin and her children; and many other special friends. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m, and again on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10 a.m in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located on 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna, where funeral services will begin at 11 am. Burial will be held in Barratts Chapel Cemetery in Frederica, Del.. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Christiana Care Visiting Nurses Association, 1 Reads Way, Suite 100, New Castle, DE 19720 or to Season's Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713, or to American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
