    Cornelius James Wall passed at Brookdale Dover care facility in Dover, DE. He was born on March 27, 1931 in Helena, MT, son of Cornelius M. “Neil” Wall and Martha A. (McIntee) Wall.
    Surviving are sons: Joe Wall of Groveport, OH, John Wall of Altoona, PA Andrew Wall of Columbus, OH Daniel Wall of Roslyn, PA and Jacob Wall of Trenton, NJ; daughters Mary Marucco, of Grove City, OH and Martha Gallup of Chesterton IN; a sister, Patricia Wall of Helena, MT and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: brother John Wall and sisters Mary Ann Wall and Cecelia “Squeak” Rickert. His son, Lawrence E. Wall, preceded him in death in 1994.
    He was married three times. He was married to Jane Wachter Wall for 18 years. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was married to Carol N. Wall for 10 years. She preceded him in death in 2024. He was married to Brenda J. Wall for 28 years. She preceded him in death in 2013
    He graduated from Cathedral High School in Helena in 1949. He attended Carroll College in Helena from 1949 to 1951 and then transferred to the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 1953. He earned a master’s degree from the University of California Berkeley in 1958.
    He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
    He was an educator during most of his life. He started his education career teaching history at Slater Junior High School, Cook Junior High School and Piner High School in Santa Rosa, CA, from 1957 to 1972. From 1974 to 1994, he worked as a teacher and administrator in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He taught classes and administered education and recreation programs at federal correctional institutions in Pleasanton, CA, New York City, and Lake Placid, NY. He retired in 1994.
    He was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, in Dover, DE. He enjoyed reading 20th century history and Catholic theology. He wrote two unpublished manuscripts: a history of the Power Townsend Company in Helena, MT, and a history of Raybrook-Lake Placid Prison.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the C Holy Cross Cemetery. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
