DOVER - Corine DeShields went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in Kent General Hospital. Corine was born Sept. 20, 1939 in Homerville, Ga., to the Late Sy and Lila (White) Jones. She had worked as a machine operator for Playtex, in Dover for over 20 years. Corine enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles, and reading the bible. She loved children and was a foster grandparent thru St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dover. Corine was one of the first members of the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church of God, in Camden, from its beginning in 1968. She was a Mother of the Church, an usher, nurse, had served in the pastory, choral ensemble, and divine mass choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Herman Jones; siblings, Arthur Lee Jones, Alex Jones, Ernest Jones, Mary Jones, Lera Merritt, and Bobbie Jones. Corine is survived by three children, Jimmy Jones and his wife Lola, of Camden, Freddie Lee Jones, of Dover, and Betty Murphy and her husband- Bruce, of Magnolia; an adopted daughter, Jeanette Frasier, of Tifton, Ga; a godson, James Cooper, of Camden; two brothers, Herman Jones, of Ocala, Fla. and Willie Jones, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; her spiritual parents, Bishop Joseph and Gloria Cooper; adopted family, the Floyd family; and special friends, Ms. Dorothy, Ms. Rose, Ms. Johnson and Ms. Rose; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at noon, Friday, Nov.16, 2012 at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church of God, 145 Center St., Camden; where family and friends may view from 11 a.m. to noon.
