GREENWOOD - Connie J. Breeding, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011, at her residence. She was 55. She was born May 31, 1956, in Milford, to the late Donald Messick and Janice Bowman Messick Bailey. Connie was a loving mother to her son, Joey and a devoted daughter and caregiver to her mother, Janice. She loved life to the fullest, sacrificing herself for others. She had great compassion for animals. She enjoyed working with flowers. She was a hard worker and would help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Messick. Besides her mother, Connie is survived by her son, Joey Breeding; her husband, Bill Breeding; two brothers, Donnie Messick of Houston, and Tommy Messick of Delaware City; one sister, Bonnie Swann of Richmond, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and her pets. Calling hours will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Hickory Ridge Community Church, 12237 Sussex Highway, Greenwood, where a memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to The American Cancer Society, PO Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163 or an Animal Shelter of you choice. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
