Millsboro - Clinton "Monty" M. Misdom formerly of Mifflintown, Pa., Waynesboro, Pa. and Carteret, N.J. passed away on Sat., Aug. 6, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Monty was born in Rahway, N.J. on Jun. 29, 1933 son of the late Clinton Montaque and Vivian Kingdom (Price) Misdom. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Navy. He was a firefighter for several years in Carteret, N.J. before opening his own sporting goods store. He owned and operated Trojan Sports Center in Waynesboro, Pa. and also had a store in Mifflintown, Pa. called Hunter's Discount Outlet. After moving to Delaware in the late 1980's, he became a charter boat captain from 1986-1993 with his last boat called the Shamrock out of the Indian River Inlet. Monty was a member of the Theodore Roosevelt Lodge No 219 F & AM Masonic Lodge in Carteret, N.J. and was a member of the American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Misdom in 1976. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Anne (Drysdale) Misdom; a daughter, Lauren Englar and her husband Todd of Sabillasville, Md.; a sister, Brenda Farnham of Carteret, N.J.; and four grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Steven and Krisstina Englar. A Masonic service and military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Thurs., Aug. 11, 2016 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Monty's name to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
