Clifton Brooks Leight

GEORGETOWN - Clifton Brooks Leight, age 60, died on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Clifton Brooks Leight was born on Sept. 7, 1950, in Baltimore, Md. He lived in Baltimore until moving with his family to Rock Hall, Md., at age 14. In 2006, Clif moved to Georgetown, after he and Beth were married. Clif was a very talented musician and member of "The Rubber Band," with fellow members, Jamie Coleman, (Jarbo), Goldie Vansant, and Chris Bothe. Clif loved being on the water and as a genuine craftsman he worked on boats for over 40 years in Rock Hall, Md. He was able to build anything with his hands. Clif symbolized his love for God when he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 28, 1997. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles G. Leight, his mother, Katherine J. Leight and his brother, Herbert J. Leight. He is survived by his loving and cherished wife, Mary E. Leight (Beth); his seven children, Danielle E. Johnson, Erin J. Leight, C. Brooks Leight, Danielle E. Marinucci, Amelia L. Parsons, Amber M. Leight, and J. Ian Parsons; and his four grandchildren, Isaiah Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Naomi Johnson. He is also survived by his brother, Charles L. Leight; his sister-in-law, Beverly Leight; his sister, Carol G. Alexander; his brother-in-law, Jim Alexander. Arrangements will be taking place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Route 9 in Georgetown on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to: Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 22300 Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947. Arrangements handed by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
