NEW CASTLE - Clifford Ottly Doud, 89 of New Castle, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Beebe Medical Hospital, Lewes. He is the son of the late Harry T. Doud II and Mildred Lednum Doud. He was preceded in death by his son, Harry T. Doud III. Mr. Doud was a Technical Engineer at RCA Corporation in New Jersey and also worked in broad casting at Temple University in Philadelphia. He proudly served in the United State Marine Corp as a paratrooper marine during World War II in Iwo Jima. He was a life time member of the Marine Corp League, active member of the American Legion and a charter and life time member of the National WWII Memorial. He also served in the Association of Survivors in the WWII Parachute Unit Of the United States Marine Corp, and a National Rifle Assoc. member. He is survived by his three children, Laura Lusardi, Myra Wolf and Clifford Doud; one sister, Helen Vinson; 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Linda Rowe Doud. Interment will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701. Arrangements handled by Berry Short Funeral Home, Milford.
